Every spring in southern Ontario the forests light up with our provincial flower. The trillium is one of Ontario’s most beautiful wild-flowers. Averaging 8-10 inches in height and blooming each spring for at least a week to 10 days. Down our road is the Copeland Forest and each spring the forest floor is carpeted with trilliums, a true wonder to behold. This is the best time to hike and explore the Copeland. The Copeland is a great place to hike or walk with numerous trails and it is literally 5 minutes from our door.
Other wild flowers you will see there include Trout lilies, Jack in the Pulpit and woodland violets. Right now the trilliums on our property have broken through the ground and are just waiting for warmer weather. We have red and white trilliums here at Bluebird Meadows Bed and Breakfast and quite a few Jack in the Pulpits.
