Just catching some zzz’s

This little male Ruby-throated Hummingbird could not keep his eyes open for his mini photo shoot this afternoon. He tried to have a nap on the feeder but was chased off his perch by a very aggressive wasp. Then he settled on the Sheppard’s hook and promptly shut his eyes again. We are very fortunate to get two or three pairs every year and starting in early August the babies fledge and start appearing at our feeders.
