Walking the trails that skirt the hay meadows of our acreage is always interesting.  You will see birds that you don’t normally see in your back yard or at your feeder.  One such bird is the Savannah Sparrow.  A common open country bird, this sparrow has a lovely song that is kind of blurred and buzzy and not boistrous.  It is often overlooked as just another sparrow, but take a closer look and they are quite lovely with finely steaked breast and a bit of sunny yellow around his eys and bill.
