It is a rare delight to see a fox when you are out for a walk/hike on our trails or anywhere, but it hardly ever happens. These animals are extremely shy and do an excellent job of hiding or blending in with their surroundings. They are also more active at night. We have had a critter cam at Bluebird Meadows Bed and Breakfast for over 5 years and this is the first time we have managed a photograph of a visiting fox. Getting a new camera this winter has been worth it, as this one seems to capture more images of wildlife. If you are interested in getting a critter camera for your own back yard, pick one with a very short delay. This fox visited a few nights and the Critter Cam goes on to take various photos of the fox hunting mice and I just hope the little guy got something for his efforts. In the second picture below you can actually see the fox in the act of pouncing on what he thinks is a mouse under the snow.

A bit blurry but the critter cam captured the fox pouncing above a spot he believed a mouse was hiding.
