Well this was a first.  Easter weekend a snowshoe hare showed up at Bluebird Meadows.  I guess the Easter Bunny was busy.   He was very interested in my some of my shrubs and finding tidbits under the bird feeders.  As you can see he has almost transformed himself back to brown from his white winter coat.  The Snowshoe Hare is also known a the Varying Hare or the Snowshoe Rabbit and gets it’s name from it’s huge back feet and the mark his tail leaves in the snow.  His big hind feet enable him to not sink in deep snow.   Hopefully he continues on his way and doesn’t find our vegetable garden later this spring.
