Have you ever had the pleasure of seeing a male Indigo Bunting?  This spring many people in our region have had the treat of seeing these little electric blue birds at their feeders.  In the shadows this bird can appear almost black, but once the sun strikes him you will see why he has the name he has, a incomparable indigo blue, rivaled only by the colour of the sky.  His mate’s colouration  is totally different than  the male, as she dresses for camouflage in drab brown with a few darker streaks on her breast.

Bluebird Meadows Bed and Breakfast not only has these little beauties visiting the feeders but also nesting in our fence rows in the wild Blackberry and raspberry thickets along the trails.  So keep your eyes sharp as you walk our trails this time of year.
