This beautiful male Cardinal’s image was captured by Donna Tolmie on a recent visit.  He is all fluffed up from the cold and is hiding his legs and feet under him to keep warm.  Here are some fun facts about this beautiful bird:   Did you know that male Cardinals are quite territorial?  They will even fight with themselves in the reflection of a window or a review mirror of a vehicle.  7 states in the US  have the Cardinal as their state bird.  Here at Bluebird Meadows B&B, we currently have one male and 3 females.  You will know when it’s courting and nesting time as the male bird will often be seen feeding his mate.  They are also one of the few song birds that mate for life.  #birding  #midlandb&b
